12-15-18 Carnegie Hall with Ray Chew and
Vivian Scott Chew
On Saturday, I worked backstage at Stern Auditorium in Carnegie Hall. The concert was “A Night of Inspiration,” produced by noted composer and music director, Ray Chew—along with his co-producer, Vivian Scott Chew. The aim of the concert was to provide uplifting music from diverse traditions, which is especially important in these turbulent times.

I oversaw last-minute script changes between noon and the 8PM curtain, then gave the changes to the teleprompter operator. Everyone was cooperative, warm and appreciative. I was pleased to contribute to this event. The list of performers included: Regina Belle, Shirley CaesarJ. J. Hairston, Koryn Hawthorne, Kenny Lattimore, Ledisi, Cantor Azi Schwartz, Iyanla Vanzant, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, and BeBe Winans.

"Just A Little Tattoo"
Annie wrote " Just A Little Tattoo" with longtime collaborator Arlon Bennett. She gave him socks that say BRO for Christmas. Annie refers to Arlon as Mr. Content, because he always comes up with wonderful, everyday details to make the lyrics ring true. Music and lyrics copyright A. Dinerman and A.
