10-12-2021 Annie's Monologue "Women's March on Versailles" performed at Tuesdays@9
Tonight, actress Theresa Rose performed my monologue about the "Women's March on Versailles" at Tuesdays@9. In Paris on October 5, 1789, the price of bread in the market was so high that housewives started a riot. Thousands of average women spontaneously became activists because they couldn't feed their families. They gathered from the streets of Paris and marched twelve miles to the King’s estate at Versailles. Some of them were able to speak with the King and they demanded bread. I wrote this monologue in which I imagined a housewife returning home from the women’s march and telling her oldest daughter all about it.
Tuesdays@9 is the oldest continuing series of dramatic cold readings in New York City. It's part of Naked Angels, an American theater company founded in 1986. Tuesdays@9 has hosted weekly readings via Zoom since the pandemic began in 2020. The community connects actors, playwrights, directors and musicians.
In 2020, I wrote also three monologues which were streamed live by Primary Stages (New York) in online events.
06-08-2020 Closer Than Ever - Regina Zona's
video of Annie's new song
Now, you can watch a video of my new song. “Closer Than Ever” is about the day-to-day life we share as we all live through this pandemic together. My friend, singer Regina Zona, has made the video to support her new collaborative project, #FriendsArtistsMusic, as a way to give back to the arts for the successes she’s enjoyed in Opera and as a Cabaret performer. Regina has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise donations of any size to benefit three organizations that are championing artists in this difficult time.
COVID-19 has hurt the Arts industry and there is no telling when it is going to recover. The biggest opera companies and all the Broadway theatres have cancelled their programming for the fall of 2020. Many artists have no work, no income and no idea when they will be working again. Won’t you please visit the GoFundMe page and watch the video of my song, “Closer Than Ever”. It’s a song about you, and me, and people all over the world.

05-09-2020 Love In The Time Of Corona
I recently wrote a theatrical monologue about how you and I are living in quarantine. My monologue was streamed as a live theatrical performance. If you enjoyed the live stream, thanks for sharing this fun event. If you missed the live event, or if you’d like an encore, below is a link to the YouTube Channel where you can view it, and other monologues written especially for this event.
I was really excited to write a very timely piece and to have it presented by Primary Stages Theater Company in New York. Please click the link below to view all the monologues now. Each monologue runs 3 minutes. The piece I wrote starts at 1:05:52. The actress, Michele Baldwin, was directed by Emily Hartford. The title is “Step Up And Stand With Us.”
